Snacks
Pate spread on crackers or rye bread is such a delicious, easy lunch. I like to serve along side some pickled veg. Of course, it's also perfect for pre dinner nibbles. Nutrient dense and full of healthy fats, chicken liver pate is a a good one to have on hand in the fridge. Small approx 120g Large approx 240g
A creamy butter bean dip made with roasted garlic, lemon and rosemary. Serve with crackers and veggie sticks or spread onto warm flat bread.
A brilliant magenta dip to add a pop of colour to your table! Earthy roast beetroot is flavoured with cumin and coriander and blended with yoghurt. Slather on warm pide or scoop with raw veggies.
Vegetarian mains
A vegetarian cottage pie made with lentils, onion and herbs, topped with a potato, cauliflower and parmesan topping.
Kichari comes from the Ayurvedic tradition and is described as a complete protein meal. It is very easy to digest and the combination of rice, beans and spices is delicious! You will also find that kichari may be prescribed by an Ayurveda practitioner as a cleanse. In this case it is eaten for every meal for several days. That aside, whether you are cleansing or not, it is a delicious, nurturing and satisfying meal. I serve my kichari with gomasio (sesame salt), date & tamarind chutney, sauerkraut (not traditional but delicious - purists, please hold if you wish!) a dollop of yogurt, a lemon wedge and fresh herbs and greens.
This is a hearty side dish, vegetarian meal or great for lunch with a salad. A blend of wild and brown rice, mushrooms , wholegrain mustard and parmesan is baked until the cheese browns. This dish arrives in a foil tray ready for you to pop back in the oven to reheat. Small serves 1-2 Medium serves 2-3 Large serves 4-6
Meat mains
A delightful combination of prunes, capers, green olives and fresh herbs. Serve with brown rice & ghee, couscous, quinoa or a sweet potato puree and simple green salad or steamed greens.
Lamb on the bone is slowly cooked with cumin, coriander, cinnamon and dried apricots.
A flavoursome, mild beef korma made with home made korma curry paste. Serve with steamed basmati rice, raita and raw tomato relish
Salads and Vegetables
The sweetness of the dates goes well with the bitterness of the rocket and saltiness of the cheese. Serve a a side.
Cauliflower is pan fried in olive oil and sea salt, then topped with chives, lemon zest and parmesan.
This is perfect to serve for lunch to share with friends or as a side for a main meal. Comes with a wedge of lemon and a feta yoghurt on the side. Serve with crusty bread and a simple salad if you wish.
Sides
A flavoursome side dish when you want a little more than plain rice. Goes well with meat or lentil dishes, or enjoy alone with a green salad for lunch.
A delicious flavoursome way to enjoy rice. Serve as a side dish. Also perfect for lunch.

Yoghurt is strained to make it lovely and thick. Cucumber, salt and a swirl of olive oil are stirred through. Serve with curries, kichari or dhal.

For the freezer
These are great for kids dinner, serve with pasta and coat with the sauce. Also perfect as a lunch with salad. They freeze well too.
A rich, hearty beef stew slowly cooked so the meat is lovely and tender. Cooked with broth and added veggies this old fashioned favourite is also full of goodness. Serve with cauliflower mash, polenta or mashed potatoes. A dollop of sauerkraut is also delicious!

This one is thanks to the wonderful Herbie's Spices. Baharat spice blend is a mild combination of paprika, pepper, cumin, cassia, cloves, coriander, cardamom and nutmeg. The beef is slowly cooked in the spices with olives and served with a scattering of pine nuts.
