What are choux, you ask?

They are a fabulous French dessert, little puffs of joy, made with the same batter as an éclair, and with the same tendency to puff up and create a hollow centre. Into this empty middle is where we pipe our filling. 

There is no bad time to eat choux! A textural sensation, light but satisfying, they make a brilliant dessert, are great for morning or afternoon tea, and we’ve heard they work for breakfast too.

How does it work?

Our permanent menu includes 6 of the most beloved flavours! Every flavour comes in a box of 6 minimum. Leave it up to the chef by choosing the mix selection and receive 12 choux with 3 flavours from our menu.

A few words about me..

Hello, I’m Alexandra and The Choux is my food offering in Melbourne. The Choux started as an idea of creating a fun version of this classic, French dessert and has now evolved into a unique brand, surrounded by a strong and supportive community.

Born in Cyprus, cooking was always a passion! After studying Political Science and International Relations in Greece and France, I had that lightbulb moment of changing careers. I joined the Paul Bocuse Institute in Lyon where I studied Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management for 3 years.

I gained my experience in Michelin starred restaurants and modern French bistros in Paris and Bordeaux before moving to Australia.

Once in Melbourne, I worked for a boutique events and catering company and I was part of a small, close-knit team creating food for all types of events.

The Choux was always a concept I wanted to develop and when Covid hit, I found myself without a job. Even though it was a tough time, I put all my energy and focus into making all those ideas and dreams, a reality.

With The Choux, I want to bring a dessert which will create a memory, a moment of sharing and most importantly, of having fun!
