Usually something we keep under our belts to whip out for our Christmas Menu, this month we're bringing the festive spirit early and enjoying spicy, creamy, indulgent goodness in the season it was intended...winter! A gingerbread custard is topped with a mulled wine and pear glaze and housed in our thin and buttery shortcrust pastry. This tart will take you to the Christmas markets of Europe, even if you've never been.

It's our classic Cherry and Almond Tart (aka Gareth's favourite tart) but we've added some Christmas spices to the mix... literally! The original version of this tart is a tribute to a dessert Gareth made way back when as an apprentice chef, and is one of the very first tarts we had on the Tarts Anon menu. We love the original and we love this Christmas-ified version, too.
