Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?
Select your items based on our minimum order. Enter your address details to find out if you are in our delivery area. Complete your order by 8pm Monday. We prepare, chill and pack your meals ready for delivery or collection no sooner than the following Friday. You reheat your meals following our instructions.
Can I place my order over the phone?
To minimise error and for ease of use, orders should be placed online with payment by credit card.
Does Open Hearth have a minimum order?
There is a minimum order of $75.
How do I pay?
Payment is made securely via your credit card.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver along Bells Line of Road, from Kurrajong to Mount Wilson. This includes surrounding side roads. If you are located outside of this area, collection can be arranged from The Friendly Grocer Kurrajong between 2 and 6pm.
What do you charge for delivery?
Delivery is charged at $15.
Orders over $200 receive free delivery.
(excludes Mt Wilson, Mt Irvine & Mountain Lagoon - $15 regardless of spend)
Will my food be delivered frozen?
We don’t freeze our meals. They are cooked fresh, chilled, packed and delivered. To maintain freshness our meals are packed into insulated cooler boxes with ice packs.

On occasion we will offer frozen meals and will specify this.
Do I have to be home for delivery?
We can still deliver provided you have access. Our delivery window is on Fridays between 2pm and 6pm.
What happens if I am not home?
Please leave a cooler container with ice packs outside your door. If a cooler container is not provided, we will leave your order in a cooler bag with ice packs. When ordering, you can provide access codes or instructions. These will be kept confidential.
What time does delivery take place? Can I book a specific time?
Our delivery window is on Fridays between 2 and 6pm. Due to the nature of our service, we can’t make a more specific time.
Can we make changes or cancel orders?
Changes or cancellations of orders can be made no later than 7 days before delivery. Any cancellations made within 7 days of delivery will result in a 50% cancellation fee (processed as a refund).
What if I have any questions regarding my delivery?
Please call Alex or Kat at Open Hearth on 0420 660 370. We can answer any questions you may have regarding your delivery, your meal, ingredients and reheating instructions.
How many days in advance am I able to order?
To order in advance, please choose from our BnB menu. This will give you a choice of dates within the current month to select for delivery.
If you require a Friday not offered, please use the delivery notes on your order to let us know.

How long will the food stay fresh for?
The meals are designed to stay fresh for up to 4 days. All our meals, including jarred and packaged items have use by dates.
I have a serious food allergy, should I order?
We take great care to ensure that all our products have clearly marked ingredients. However, we cannot guarantee trace allergens are not present in any item as we produce all items including nuts, seeds, dairy, seafood and eggs from our commercial catering kitchen.
