kitchari
Kitchari is a beautiful Ayurvedic meal of slow cooked organic mung dahl and rice it is lightly spiced with ginger, turmeric and cumin think of it as a Savoury porridge it is gentle on digestion I like to serve topped with avocado, spinach and a fried egg.
Ingredients
Water, Moong dal, Basmati rice, Ginger fresh, Coconut oil, Sea salt, Cumin, ground, Fennel seeds, Turmeric dried, Yellow mustard seeds, Black pepper.
Preparation and storage notes
Place in a pot bring to a simmer 5-8 minutes or microwave 1-2 minutes. **add a little water if too thick it should be a porridge consistency. Serve topped with Avo or fried egg or spinach.
