**GF PASTRY AVAILABLE** Taking things that are already great and ruining them in the name of "nutrition" and "well-being" is what we're all about here at GCF. So it will come as no surprise to see that we are offering "delicious" vegetarian sausage rolls. Chock full of meaty lentils and sweet potato these are tried and tested and not found wanting (except for tomato ketchup).

Crispy, tender, and seriously addictive. These bite-sized chicken morsels are marinated in rich buttermilk for extra juiciness, then tumbled in our family’s secret herb and spice blend—a subtle nod to the Colonel, but with Glen’s own twist. Coated for crunch and fried till golden, they’re gluten-free and full of flavour. Perfect for snacking, sharing, or sneaking before dinner even starts.

Anyone who thinks chickens don't have fingers hasn't cut one off at the Belgrave roundabout. Light and tasty crumbed chicken "nuggets" are a great alternative to the shame of ordering food from KFC. They don't photograph well.... but they do taste great.

Peri Peri Chicken with Portuguese Rice – for when you want actual flavour without needing to sign a waiver first. This is peri peri done properly: chicken marinated in garlic, lemon, paprika, and just enough chilli to make things interesting without requiring a glass of milk on standby. It's got that beautiful char, that tangy vinegar kick, and enough spice to wake up your taste buds without staging a full rebellion. Think "pleasantly zingy" rather than "why have I done this to myself." Comes with Portuguese rice – the tomato-based, garlicky, bay leaf-infused stuff that Portuguese chicken shops have been serving for decades because it just works. It soaks up all that gorgeous peri peri oil and basically does half the work of making the meal delicious. Safe for most adults and adventurous teenagers. If your kids think capsicum is spicy, maybe steer them toward something gentler and save this one for yourself. You deserve nice things. 🍗

Trevors Beef Bangers a thing to behold and even better to be eating them. Made with natural casing and the perfect ratio of fat, it's all I can do to not be outshone by our local butcher. Paired with a classic onion gravy, and silky smooth mash.

I learned to cook a meat sauce from a ball-breaking Italian. It's fitting that Sophie has been wanting to feature a lasagne on the menu and has been breaking my balls ever since. I use better ingredients and more of them, as well as the skills I have hard-won in an unforgiving Italian kitchen.

Malaysian Fish Ball Laksa – the kind of soup that makes you question why you ever settled for anything less. We're talking proper laksa: fragrant coconut-lemongrass broth that's been simmered until it achieves that perfect balance between "I could drink this from a mug" and "wait, this is actually a meal." Loaded with fish balls, rice noodles, green veggies and a boiled egg because apparently that's tradition and who are we to argue with centuries of Malaysian wisdom? This is the sort of bowl that fixes bad days, cold weather, and that general sense of existential dread that hits around 3pm on a Wednesday. Fair warning: you will want to drink the broth straight from the container when nobody's looking. We won't judge. We've done it too. 🍜 (Sophie tried this last week and declared it "dangerous" because she couldn't stop eating it. High praise from someone who makes macarons for a hobby.)

Although traditionally a side dish this is my spin on this traditional caponata. It is hearty enough to be served as a main alongside our wild rice salad, it's probably so healthy it'll kill you. Combing sauteed onion and celery with Italian tomatoes, capers and green olive and served on top of creamy and garlicky oven-roasted eggplant, .
x1 $17.001 Serve
With the addition of a roast capsicum and tomato sauce this textural Gnocchi sensation has sweet and tangy heirloom cherry tomatoes, olive oil and basil. To say that it's SIMPLE-y delicious would be to make a pun that is beneath me. "Invoke your wildest Italian dreams with this gastronomic sensation" - seems hyperbolic enough.
x1 $17.001 Serve
Mexican Bean and Cheese Enchiladas – because sometimes you just need melted cheese to solve life's problems, and if that cheese happens to be draped over corn tortillas stuffed with perfectly seasoned refried beans, even better. We're talking proper enchilada sauce, more cheese on top (obviously), all baked until it's bubbling and gorgeous. Comes with Mexican rice and a dollop of sour cream, because balance. Vegetarian, freezer-friendly, and the kind of meal that makes you feel like you've got your life together even when you absolutely don't. Also pairs excellently with avoiding whatever you're supposed to be doing instead.
Small $17.001 Unit
Sophie's much discussed vege lasagne - It's like other veggie lasagnas but made by someone whose reputation is on the line. If you are not completely satisfied then I will give you your money back and eat a hat (not my hat - I like my hat - probably Sophie's hat)
