Excuse Me Katies is Kate Kent’s home-style meal business, built on a love of honest food, quality ingredients and the simple pleasure of sitting down to a delicious meal. Kate and her husband Paul are long time Camperdown locals, farmers and passionate supporters of good, sustainable food.

Together, they farm their own meat and are committed to organic, biodynamic and regenerative food practices. It is a philosophy which flows through everything Excuse Me Katies does: knowing where food comes from, choosing quality ingredients and taking the time to make meals properly.

Kate’s cooking is inspired by the food many of us grew up with: hearty favourites, slow-cooked classics, wholesome family meals and a few delicious surprises along the way. There is a little nostalgia in every dish, but with the convenience modern life demands.

And there is plenty of food knowledge in the family. Paul’s background as a pastry chef brings another layer of skill and experience to the kitchen, with delicious baking and sweet treats often finding their way onto the menu.

From a comforting family dinner to an easy meal for one, Excuse Me Katies makes it simple to enjoy wholesome, satisfying food without the shopping, preparation and washing up.

The business also has a strong place in the local community, providing convenient, locally made meals for busy families, older Australians and people receiving Support at Home and NDIS Home Care Package support. For Kate, it is about much more than making meals. It is about feeding people well and making sure good food remains accessible, enjoyable and part of everyday life.
