Galangal is an aromatic root vegetable which is a little similar to ginger but not as pungent and spicy. Combined with coconut milk, lemongrass, tomato and abalone mushrooms, this soup is both decadent and warming to give you the ultimate in comfort food.

A decadent sauce such as this could only be served with one thing - our house made gnocchi. This style of pasta is great at collecting plenty of sauce with each bite, yet the creamy sauce is complemented beautifully by the slight crunch of the walnut garnish (and, might we add, goes particularly well with a nice Shiraz or Cab Sav...) Portion size is 1 as a meal or 2 to share as a part of a meal.
