Behind every Conlan's meal is the experience and passion of award-winning restaurateurs Matt and Kate Dempsey, whose reputation for exceptional food and genuine hospitality has been built over decades. Before making Port Fairy home, Matt established himself as one of regional Victoria's most respected chefs, leading the kitchen at Pettavel in Geelong before opening the acclaimed Gladioli in Inverleigh, a restaurant that earned two hats in The Age Good Food Guide. Together, Matt and Kate also created the much-loved Tulip in Geelong and have become known for creating welcoming dining experiences that celebrate local produce, thoughtful cooking and outstanding service.
