The Alimentos Story

Alimentos was born from an unexpected career change. After almost 20 years as an emergency nurse, founder Alli was asked to run her children's school canteen. What began as a chance opportunity quickly became a thriving business, with freshly prepared lunches being supplied to twelve primary schools from her kitchen in Drouin.

When COVID changed the way people lived and worked, Alli adapted by preparing home delivered family meals and corporate catering, including meals for healthcare workers at the Lardner Park testing facility. The growth of the business led to a second commercial kitchen at Lardner Park and opened the door to even more opportunities.

Today, Alimentos caters for everything from intimate family meals and corporate functions to gala events for hundreds of guests. Alongside its catering services, Alimentos proudly prepares fresh, nutritious meals for older Australians receiving Support at Home funding, NDIS participants and anyone who values the convenience of quality home delivered meals. Alli is passionate about helping people remain independent, well nourished and connected to their communities by making mealtimes simple, enjoyable and something to look forward to.

Committed to supporting the local community, Alli sources quality ingredients from regional growers and suppliers wherever possible while continually investing in her own skills. She completed her Commercial Cookery qualification and, in 2024, was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Proud to be a Chef program, where she trained alongside some of Australia's leading chefs.

Nearly a decade after taking a leap of faith, Alli continues to combine her passion for caring with her love of cooking. Whether preparing a single home delivered meal, supporting Australians to age well in their own homes, or catering a major celebration, her focus remains the same: creating delicious food that brings people together while making every customer feel valued, cared for and at home.
