LAMB MOUSSAKA
I fell in love with this dish at my friends The Harbilas's Greek feast many moons ago in Maroubra... & I still put it up there with some of the best comfort food around. Lamb mince is slowly cooked in tomato, oregano, cinnamon & spices and then layered with grilled eggplant, potato & finished with a creamy bechamel sauce. Delicious on its own or with a simple side salad.
Ingredients
lamb mince, Potato, Eggplant, HOMEMADE BEEF STOCK, Milk, onion brown, tomato puree no added salt, Tomato paste, Butter, corn flour gluten free, extra virgin olive oil, Breadcrumbs (GF), Sea salt, Cinnamon, Garlic, Oregano, Nutmeg, allspice, Pepper, Bay leaf.
Preparation and storage notes
Remove lid & bake in pre heated oven at 180.c fan force for 30 - 45 minutes or until golden on top. For large family size add an extra 15 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
