Smokey Beans

My friend makes a version of this and taught me to do it but he makes his with bacon. I wanted a vegetarian version so I omitted the bacon and put the trays of beans through our smoker for an hour to enhance the smokiness. Paprika, onions, rosemary, bay leaves, cumin and a mix of butter beans, chick peas, kidney beans make this a wonderful meal. Pour it over rice, mashed potatoes, potato grain, on toast!
